GeoEngineers is pleased to announce Michelle Ramos has joined the company as an Associate Geotechnical Engineer in its Redmond office.
Ramos has more than 14 years of experience geotechnical engineering, with a particular emphasis on trenchless design and involvement in the water/wastewater industry. Prior to joining GeoEngineers, Ramos was a senior project engineer with Staheli Trenchless Consultants, providing geotechnical services for public infrastructure projects throughout the Northwest and Alaska. In addition to her extensive project experience, she is currently Chair of the Northwest Chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) and is a regular presenter at national trenchless conferences.
Ramos has played a central role in a number of high profile infrastructure projects in the region, including:
Tulalip Water Pipeline, Everett, Washington.
A new 7-mile, 36-inch water pipeline with four HDD waterway crossings.
Ballard Siphon Replacement Project, Seattle, Washington.
Replacement of two existing 36-inch diameter wood stave sewer siphons under the Lake Washington Ship Canal in Seattle by sliplining with two new 30-inch pipes and tunneling one 84-inch diameter pipe.
Madison Valley Long-Term Storage, Seattle, Washington.
A 60-inch, 2,200-foot-long storm sewer through the Madison Valley district of Seattle to convey stormwater into a new storage facility.
Ramos’ experience adds depth to GeoEngineers’ well-established trenchless design team. Over the past 15 years, GeoEngineers staff have completed more than 500,000 feet of new and rehabilitated pipelines and hundreds of HDD crossings throughout the nation and internationally. In 2008, the company acquired DCM Engineering in Walnut Creek, CA, a national leader in trenchless design and construction, and last year
Trenchless Technology magazine named GeoEngineers one of the nation’s top 25 trenchless design firms. Ramos will be a key player in the company’s trenchless pursuits in the Northwest, particularly in the public water and wastewater infrastructure market.
“I couldn’t be more excited about my new role at GeoEngineers,” commented Ramos. “I’m passionate about helping clients address their trenchless engineering challenges, and the GeoEngineers team has the full range of professional and technical expertise to make this happen.”
Jim Kleppe, Vice President at GeoEngineers, views Ramos’ addition as an important new benefit to GeoEngineers’ regional and national clients. “Michelle’s experience with public agencies and large scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects will be a great resource to our clients.”
