Safety is embedded into our corporate vision and strategic planning as a company. We couldn’t do what we do as a geotechnical engineering firm without valuing the safety of our employees, our clients and the communities in which we work. We deeply care about the people that we work with and want each and everyone one of them to go home every night the same way they arrived.

GeoEngineers employees and the contractors that work for us must all own and take responsibility for their safety. At GeoEngineers our first core value is “We Think Safety First.” As part of our core value, we strive to integrate safety into how we plan, organize and undertake each business activity and operation. The foundation of our actions is based on the following “Six Safety Principles.” These six principles are designed to guide our decisions to ensure we provide the best possible service to our clients, our employees and the communities that we work.

• Always think safety first—This is our Company’s first core value. Nothing that we do is so important that we cannot take time to do it safely and correctly.
• Make safety a habit!—Working safety is like any other activity. The more you practice it the better you get.
• Do a Task Safety Assessment (TSA)—No work task should be undertaken without a thorough hazard assessment. Knowing the potential hazards and appropriate control measures is the first step toward working safely.
• Intervene—If a task in which we are involved appears unsafe every employee has a right to intervene so it can be done safely.
• Manage any change—Change is part of life. When a change or deviation in the plans do occur each employee should take the time to ensure that any new risks created have appropriate safe measures in place.
• Wear the appropriate PPE—Wearing personal protection equipment in hazardous conditions is not only the law but also it helps to ensure our employees can go home the same way they arrived. We wear it and expect our contractors to do the same.
