Redefining Success

Every once in a while we all take a moment to catch our breath and take stock in our actions, activities and generally how we spend our time each day. This is especially important in business too when contemplating what constitutes “success.”

Traditionally, profit or “money in the bank” has been the ultimate definition of success. Over the past couple of decades, traditional definitions no longer apply in the broader sense of defining success for a business. While profit and financial strength will always be  important factors in business success, what a business does with that profit and cash flow makes an even bigger contribution to defining success.

Today, internal and external components must be considered to achieve a well-rounded sense of business success. Developing a new culture of success considers the following points:

  • Employees must experience a strong sense of career development and satisfaction—not just on payday and at bonus distribution time—but every day.
  • The work we do must “make a difference,” not just “make a buck.” Improving our world is more important than ever.
  • Innovation and creativity must be cultivated over established practices. Serving clients in new and exciting ways sets the stage for professional and technical advancement.
  • Community engagement and support by our company and our employees strengthen our profile and identity. Having an active role with improving our communities and giving something back advance our success in immeasurable ways.

At GeoEngineers, we are working hard to establish an ever-growing culture of success based on these points and more.  Encouraging one another to achieve beyond our comfort zone, learning new techniques, working with our communities and being great leaders setting appropriate examples can, will and does set us apart.

While profit and financial strength will always be important factors in business success, what a business does with that profit and cash flow makes an even bigger contribution to defining success.
