Jamie discovered his computer-aided drafting (CAD) aptitude while he was still in high school, and then went on to study CAD in technical school. As one of GeoEngineers’ CAD technicians, Jamie takes the information provided to him by engineers or clients and produces design drawings as well as drawings and maps for reports.
Jamie especially enjoys getting to work with engineers to develop drawings for projects, and then seeing pictures of the project during construction and getting to see the finished product. He also appreciates the company’s culture. Jamie explains, “I think everyone here really wants to benefit not only GeoEngineers but the community and the world around us.”
One of Jamie’s most memorable projects was the Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline Project, which included more than 20 horizontal directional drilling (HDD) designs. “It was the first time I actually got to take off and run with the HDD drawings. The hours were long sometimes, but it was a really fun project and I learned a lot from it.”
Jamie enjoys the everyday things that go along with being a dad and family man to his wife and three kids. In his free time he likes to fish, hunt, play softball and golf. He reveals, “Some would say I’m a little bit of a country boy, so you might also find me working with my dad on the farm, or late at night with a flash light and a gig (a big, long-handled fork), gigging frogs for a weekend fish fry.”
