Meet Jamie Vincent, PE
Senior Civil Engineer

Geotechnical engineering

Baton Rouge, LA

Jamie says the internship he had at GeoEngineers while earning his BS in Civil Engineering at Louisiana State University (LSU) is what got him interested in geotechnical engineering. Today his work involves managing drilling operations and laboratory testing programs, analyzing laboratory testing results, completing geotechnical calculations for design and providing site-specific recommendations to clients.

The fact that GeoEngineers’ Baton Rouge office has provided geotechnical engineering services in south Louisiana for decades offers unique benefits to him and to Geo’s clients, Jamie feels. “We have numerous projects on file, including existing soil data. This information, combined with the guidance of our senior staff, really allows a young geotechnical engineer like me to flourish quickly. The first-hand knowledge passed down is second to none.”

Living in Louisiana, a sportsman’s paradise, makes it easy for Jamie to engage in his favorite seasonal hobbies. In the spring and summer, he enjoys fishing tournaments and prizes the adventure of going 100 miles offshore for overnight fishing trips. In the fall and winter, he devotes his free time to LSU football and hunting. “If LSU has a home game, I can be found in Tiger Stadium on Saturday night!”
