Meet Jay Lucas, LG
Title
Senior Environmental Geologist

Expertise
Environmental geology
Regulatory consulting

Location
Seattle, WA

Hired
2004

Jay became interested in geology as a way to work outside and apply science to solve problems. His career has included work as an exploration geologist in Colorado and New Mexico, as a regulator in Colorado and California and as a private consultant in California and Washington. He discovered GeoEngineers when he sought a consulting firm to join that put its clients first and had a minimal amount of big-corporation formality.

Jay helps clients manage and solve environmental contamination issues. With his extensive regulatory and consulting experience, Jay is well-positioned to help clients understand their options and make fully informed regulatory-compliance decisions. “My job really comes down to lessening surprises, helping clients succeed and completing their projects as painlessly as possible,” he explains.

Hiking, fly fishing and sailing top Jay’s list of outdoor leisure pursuits. Each spring, he and his girlfriend look forward to spending long Northwest summer days sailing aboard their 22-foot sailboat or fishing the streams in Washington and Idaho.
