John recalls that his interests in geology and in work that makes the earth a habitable place to live were influenced by a fifth-grade teacher with a rock-collecting hobby and by his father, who was an early director of New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation. John decided to study geology, geological engineering and hydrogeology. Over the course of nearly three decades at GeoEngineers, John has held several leadership positions. He is an environmental principal and the Portland business unit leader charged with developing new environmental projects in Oregon and Washington.
With teams of specialists, John works on complex projects that involve environmental site assessments, feasibility studies, remedial action plans and negotiations with environmental regulators. Asked about GeoEngineers’ unique features, John points to innovative thinking and employee ownership. “Every project that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations makes our team proud,” he says.
John takes his leisure on land and on water, fishing, snorkeling, swimming, gardening or traveling.
