Matt is the associate geologist and engineering geologist who leads the special inspection and testing (SI&T) business unit in GeoEngineers’ Spokane office. Matt and his team of technicians perform tests for soil placement and compaction, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, structural-steel welding, high-strength bolting and fire-proofing to ensure that they meet international and local building codes.

With his two decades of geological and environmental evaluation and consultation experience, Matt is skilled at anticipating and alerting his clients to many potential issues that could affect their construction project schedules. He takes pride in the breadth of experience GeoEngineers offers its clients. “We are considered the best earth science firm in the Northwest,” he explains. “Many of our clients need services outside the standard geotechnical evaluation or environmental consultation, and we offer more services than most other earth science firms in the region.”

Matt is an outdoorsman who enjoys mountain biking and just about any outdoor activity. When he’s ready to put his feet up, he enjoys reading books about science and American history.
