Michele’s background includes a BS in geography and studies in geology, environmental science and cartography. “I was introduced to computer-aided drafting (CAD) and AutoCAD after I’d been hired at a civil engineering firm to handle their mapping needs.” She was later promoted to an environmental scientist position with the same company, but decided that she preferred to work with AutoCAD and pursued a CAD role with GeoEngineers.
“I like problem solving with CAD and the satisfaction I get when I look at the final product on paper. It’s even better when I get to see pictures of the end result in the field.” One particularly impressive project was the 45 Ranch Habitat Restoration. “It was a long and challenging project in terms of the drafting but, in the end, it won a whole lot of recognition. That’s very gratifying.”
Michele says the people at GeoEngineers are pretty great. “I think they truly care about their clients and how their projects impact the environment. They don’t look at the client only as a source of income. I see how, on a daily basis, these engineers strive to make things right with the environment in and around rivers and streams, and that’s important to me.”
Michele’s list of leisure activities includes spending time with family and friends, reading and cooking. She also enjoys hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and just being outdoors. “I love watching football, but baseball is my favorite sport ever,” Michele reveals. “I love the Phillies and I grew up less than five miles from the Little League World Series Museum.”
