Since 2008, Whitney has provided geotechnical engineering services and worked on a variety of geotechnical engineering projects at GeoEngineers. Her specialty is seismic design. Whitney is proficient in seismic hazard analysis, which involves determining representative design earthquake motions, completing deterministic and probabilistic site response analyses, determining the forces that structures will experience during an earthquake and evaluating liquefaction and lateral spreading. She also uses numerical modeling to evaluate soil structure interaction, liquefaction and lateral spreading.
Whitney likes the challenge that geotechnical engineering provides and enjoys being on site and working with contractors to complete projects. She is passionate about geotechnical engineering and strives to put this enthusiasm into every project she works on. Whitney highly values teamwork and enjoys collaborating with her colleagues to develop innovate and creative designs. Describing GeoEngineers’ culture, she relates, “There is a genuine camaraderie at the office. I can walk into anyone’s office and have a conversation about a technical question or business-development idea.”
For fun, Whitney loves to fish, hike, mountain bike, backpack and go to concerts.
