April Smith

April is an experienced marketing and business development Associate who leads GeoEngineers’ marketing team, and heads the company’s nationwide marketing efforts in the transportation and energy sectors. She works closely with our technical partners to strategically position for competitive projects, create strong client relationships, write proposals, develop creative marketing campaigns. She has a passion for helping other succeed and will do whatever she can to support clients and colleagues.

“I find so much joy connecting with clients and technical partners to pursue and capture projects,” April says. “Marketing is about connecting people, building relationships, and finding creative ways to promote the awesome work GeoEngineers is doing in the communities where we live, work, and play.”

Relationships are foundational for April, both personally and professionally. She plays an active leadership role in the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Idaho chapter and is involved in many professional organizations, including multiple chapters of Women in Transportation Seminar, and Spokane’s OneAEC. Over the years, April has developed a talent for growth through tirelessly working to connect with industry partners and owners, developing her signature “crime maps” of how industry connections play out in different markets.

“My hope every day is to help others succeed in their goals and business plans.” April says, “When we approach each day helping our colleagues and clients, we are able to anticipate their needs, advocate for them with their interests in mind, and show our appreciation in meaningful ways.”

Building connection is as important to April in her free time as it is at work. She, her husband and three children love to entertain and invite family, friends and colleagues over for delicious food. April is known throughout her neighborhood for her amazing 4th of July parade and party, where she organizes a morning parade for the kids of the neighborhood and invites participant’s families over for fun, games, and even a food truck!  She’s also famously passionate about Starbucks coffee and loves connecting over a cup of coffee (let’s be honest, a triple grande nonfat mocha with no whip).
