Marketing Coordinator

As a Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting company-wide marketing and communication efforts. Key responsibilities include supporting proposal production and deliverables by preparing qualification materials for a variety of competitive pursuits in collaboration with technical staff. You will also support business development strategy nationwide; evaluating, positioning for, and securing new business in alignment with the firm’s strategic plan for specific market segments, disciplines, and/or geographic regions, as needed. You will support the team’s operations and management by improving processes and maintaining shared platforms and resources, and supports brand marketing/external communication, and internal communication through content development and engagement across communication channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proposal and Deliverables Production: Includes the production of proposals, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), cut sheets, staff resumes, and other competitive qualification materials that are persuasive, brand-consistent, and compliant. This includes partnering with technical staff to develop outlines, writing and editing key proposal sections, creating final document preparation/design, and submitting final packages while maintaining strict adherence to proposal deadlines and submittal requirements—and proofing all documents for accuracy and quality.
  • Pursuing and Positioning for Opportunities: Includes business development efforts by helping technical staff position for opportunities, strategizing and preparing for proposal interviews/debrief sessions, advising on value proposition and strategy, and aligning messaging and outreach to drive growth, visibility, and long-term client relationships. Evaluates new opportunities and coordinates with technical staff to implement go/no-go decision-making process.
  • Monitoring, Intake, and Distribution of Qualification-Based Pursuits: Includes qualification-based opportunity intake, evaluation, and distribution to technical staff. Monitors relevant contracting and bid platforms and maintains the company’s information and profile. Works with the internal tracking system, managing pursuits from initial RFP/RFQ receipt through award or loss, ensuring clear accountability, timelines, and coordination across pursuits.
  • Leadership and Strategy to Drive Business Growth. Includes marketing and business development initiatives that align with the company’s multi-year strategic plan and annual business plans, driving revenue growth, strengthening client experience, and/or increasing brand recognition in coordination with technical leaders and marketing colleagues.
  • Market and Client Research: Develops and maintains ongoing knowledge of industry and market trends and utilizes this knowledge to determine the most effective ways to meet business and client needs. Conducts targeted research to inform pursuit strategy.
  • Professional Relationship Management and Development: Includes working with technical leaders to manage strategic and programmatic engagement with major clients. Maintains client/partner relationships and leverages relevant industry networks to foster new contacts and build collaborative and mutually beneficial connections.
  • Coordinate and Attend Client-Outreach Events: Promotes GeoEngineers’ brand and services at industry events and conferences, participates in local agencies and organizations, and builds community and network connections to drive the firm’s pipeline of new business.
  • Business Development Analysis, Reporting, and Metrics: Includes analyzing pursuit performance and provides recommendations to strengthen future business development efforts.
  • Brand Management and Stewardship: Involves maintaining GeoEngineers’ brand identity and strategy across all internal and external communications. This includes visual design standards, written voice and messaging, and consistent representation of GeoEngineers’ values, culture, and technical expertise.
  • External Communication: Includes technical staff presentations, technical papers, and other content. Contributes to communication through wwww.geoengineers.com and official social media accounts as assigned, supports award applications and targeted campaigns as appropriate.
  • Internal Communication: Supports GeoEngineers’ internal communication program, including local reporting and corporate communication, occasional message ownership and creation for standard channels, targeted internal campaigns to communicate a particular message to our staff, impact culture, craft a staff experience, or modify behavior.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communication, or marketing.
  • 2 years of experience in marketing or related field—ideally in the Architecture/Engineering/Contracting (AEC) industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizing, editing, and preparing long documents.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe InDesign. Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite applications a plus.
  • Research and/or reporting skills and ability to collect and summarize relevant background information on clients, pursuits, or markets.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and ability to collaborate with colleagues remotely.
  • Relationship management skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships with technical staff at all levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently, plan, multitask, and maintain an efficient approach to completing work and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting and regular walking, bending, standing and reaching.
  • Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as needed.

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Bellingham, WA, is $56,000 – $82,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
