- We install monitoring wells in dikes, brownfield sites and other locations to capture data on groundwater and potential contamination.
- Our understanding of fluvial geomorphology, the interactions between streams and soil, is fundamental to our river projects.
- We use computer modeling tools such as AERMOD to integrate source pollutant emission rates, meteorological data, and terrain data and estimate pollutant concentrations at downwind receptor locations.
- Our environmental investigations are the foundation for much of our remediation work, and the first step toward cleaning up contaminated soil.
Air Quality
GeoEngineers has a growing team of environmental scientists who specialize in air quality. They calculate emissions from point sources, model dispersion, and help clients navigate the web of federal, state and local air quality requirements. We use computer models such as AERMOD, Calpuff, CMAQ and SLAB to integrate source pollutant emission rates, meteorological data, and terrain data and estimate pollutant concentrations at downwind receptor locations. We use these models as a basis for siting ambient monitors, evaluating potential exposure for risk management plans and developing control strategies to move clients into compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), state implementation plans, and other applicable air permits (Title V Operating Permit, PSD Construction Permit, etc.).
