GeoEngineers Hires Jon Rodriguez as CFO

On November 4, GeoEngineers welcomed Jon Rodriguez as the firm’s new chief financial officer (CFO). Mr. Rodriguez is an accomplished CFO with more than 30 years of diverse financial management experience in the A/E/C industry.

Mr. Rodriguez began his career in San Diego as an independent business consultant, but soon began working his way through the design industry, mastering the nuances of financial management and planning at a variety of firms. As CFO or senior financial leader, Mr. Rodriguez has experience in environmental remediation, consulting engineering, federal, state and local government contracting, regulatory outsourcing, design-build construction, program management, construction management, materials testing, inspection services and technology. In 2014, Mr. Rodriguez came to Seattle to take on CFO duties at a respected national environmental science and engineering firm, where he has worked until joining GeoEngineers.

“One of the most important things I’ve learned over the years is a concept I saw right away in GeoEngineers’ core values—grit,” Mr. Rodriguez says. “Learning to overcome obstacles with grit and tenacity can help us get through anything. There are lots of twists and turns in life and in business and grit goes a long way in being successful.”

In addition to overseeing finances, business planning, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and helping to shape firm strategy, Mr. Rodriguez has also focused on people. He believes that financial investments and systems should not be separate from the people that drive businesses forward. GeoEngineers looks forward to continuing to diversify and grow under Mr. Rodriguez’ leadership.
