GeoEngineers’ “Superheroes” Complete 40-Mile Relay Race

A team of five GeoEngineers staff dressed as superheroes recently completed the Bellingham Traverse, a 40-mile multi-sport relay race. The event, hosted by three GeoEngineers clients (the City of Bellingham, Port of Bellingham, and Bellingham Parks and Recreation), celebrates the life cycle of salmon and the impact they have on our lives and community.

GeoEngineers was a bronze level “spawnsor” of the race, and our superheroes team proudly carried the company banner across the finish line (with one of the team members even carrying an injured superhero on his back).

Event distances and participants include:

  • Greenways Run (5.5 mi) Susan Arrigoni, Tisha Nash, Sean Cool
  • Mountain Bike (6 mi) Joey Smith
  • Road Bike (18 mi) Sue
  • Trail Run (3.4 mi) Fiona McNair
  • Paddle (3.6 mi) Sean
  • Team Trek (.5 mi) Sue, Tisha, Joey, Fiona, Sean

The beneficiary of the event was Appliance Depot, a nonprofit that brings new life to discarded appliances through a job-training program that helps low-income residents.

We're driven by our values.
