Franklin Grynkewicz Joins GeoEngineers as Senior Principal

Franklin Grynkewicz recently joined GeoEngineers Inc. as a senior principal geotechnical engineer as part of the firm’s acquisition of Boston-based FGG Consulting. As FGG’s sole proprietor, Mr. Grynkewicz has done it all. Throughout his 35-year career, Mr. Grynkewicz has focused on permanent and temporary excavation-support systems, dewatering, ground improvement, deep foundations and tunnels.

Mr. Grynkewicz worked as both a consultant and a contractor before founding FGG in 2006, and his work experience ranges from subway tunnel-support design to braced cofferdams and even industrial siting for offshore wind farms. In recent years, he has developed a reputation for efficient and creative contributions to large infrastructure projects. Highlights include multimillion-dollar projects like the Boston Central Artery, an extension of Metro’s Green Line in Washington D.C., adding parallel crossings to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and an expansive effort to deepen New York Harbor.

At GeoEngineers, Mr. Grynkewicz provides leadership and experience to the new Construction Design Group from his base in Boston, Massachusetts. The team offers a suite of integrated engineering services for contractors across the country. In addition to geotechnical and structural recommendations, the team can provide dewatering plans, deep excavation shoring, foundation designs, construction monitoring, soil-structure interaction analyses, seismic modeling, soil characterization and environmental compliance.
