Ryan Cole Co-Instructs AE Oregon Field Course

GeoEngineers was proud to be a sponsor of the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists’ two-day Field-Developed Cross Section Course, co-instructed by GeoEngineers Senior Engineering Geologist Ryan Cole. GeoEngineers Lab Manager Walter Schoen provided samples for the soil laboratory and field classification portions of the course and GeoEngineers pitched in some note pads and pens.

The Field-Developed Cross Section method offers a systematic, reproducible approach for collecting field data and portraying subsurface conditions before and during drilling.

The course brought together 22 early- to mid-career geoscience professionals and students from Portland State University. Over two days, participants received hands-on instruction in soil and rock classification in both field and laboratory settings, along with training in Field-Developed Cross Section mapping methodology.

Thank you, Ryan, for being willing to share your experience and give back to others in the profession!

We want you on our team.
