Ashlesh (Ace) is a staff civil engineer who specializes in trenchless technologies like horizontal directional drilling (HDD). HDD and other trenchless technologies enable engineers to install lengths of pipeline beneath surface obstacles like rivers or highways. Ace performs geotechnical investigations, prepares HDD designs based on the findings and monitors construction as contractors use specialized tools to install trenchless pipeline segments.

“With Geoengineers I’m not only involved with design,” Ace says. “I’m also out in the field to see how it is carried out.”

Ace first encountered trenchless technology while attending Louisiana Tech University. As a student, he had the opportunity to work on several pipeline installation and rehabilitation projects through the university’s Trenchless Technology Center—a well-respected leader in the industry. His experience and interest in trenchless work eventually led him to GeoEngineers.

“My interests seem to perfectly align with the work Geoengineers does,” Ace says. “Besides that, Geoengineers is a great company with good work-life balance that values its employees more than anything.”

On the life side of that healthy balance, Ace enjoys reading, playing soccer, traveling to new places and spending quality time with his friends.
