Senior Geo-Structural Engineer
- Boston, MA*
Dimitrios specializes in construction support services for large infrastructure projects. He designs temporary and permanent structures, foundations and earth support systems. Dimitrios also performs numerical analyses, including finite element, structural and global stability analyses to more efficiently design stable structures.
“I grew up in a family who worked in construction,” Dimitrios says. “My grandfather was a mason and taught me to swing my first hammer at three years old. During my years of school, it became evident that I also excelled in math and science. With my natural ability to build and my strength with math and science, civil engineering was a no brainer.”
As a part of GeoEngineers Construction Design Group, Dimitrios puts his background in construction to good use. The group offers a comprehensive suite of design and analytical services to construction contractors working on heavy civil infrastructure or development projects. During his career, Dimitrios has enjoyed the challenge of working on diverse infrastructure projects across the country.
“Every day is different. Every design is different,” Dimitrios says. “I am able to see many different types of projects since our clients have different areas of specialty.”
Dimitrios makes the most of his engineering prowess outside of work too—building everything from sheds in the backyard to tree houses for his two children. When he’s not spending time with his wife and kids (and dogs and turtle!), you might find Dimitrios riding his motorcycle, hitting the soccer field, or even playing violin in a traditional Greek band!
