Staff Geotechnical Engineer

To be substantial, is to be underlying—unseen but essential. This is why I find joy in being a geotechnical engineer. So much of our work goes unnoticed but ends up being the very foundation for all our built environment.

As a member of our busy Seattle geotechnical team, Louis focuses on foundation elements, shoring systems, levies, retaining walls, and other earthworks. Louis’ design and analysis work plays an important part in development projects across the region, including complex urban redevelopment efforts in downtown Seattle and Bellevue.

“Who doesn’t love to dig holes?” Louis says.

Louis graduated from the University of Washington in 2020 with a master’s degree in civil engineering and spent the first three years of his career at a geotechnical consulting firm specializing in private development. By 2023 Louis was ready for bigger challenges, and he decided to level up his career at GeoEngineers.

“I also wanted to work for a firm that was based in Washington,” Louis says, “with an established team of fun engineers!”

Outside of the office, you’ll probably find Louis participating in one board-related activity or another. He enjoys board sports and a good board game night at home with friends—although he has yet to win a round of Catan. Louis also stays active with climbing and disc golf, and he’s always looking for new PC gaming buddies (add him on Discord!)
