Monica finds and recruits the talented employees that make GeoEngineers special. She works closely with hiring managers to understand their needs, guide them toward effective hiring strategies, and introduce them to exceptional candidates. Her people-first approach extends to both sides of the hiring equation, and when the right person is identified, Monica helps them navigate every step of the onboarding process.
Monica’s path toward a career in Human Resources began during her college years. While interviewing for her first corporate role at Panda Restaurant Group, she had an inspiring encounter with a recruiter who left a lasting impression.
“I wanted to provide that same experience to candidates through coaching and development,” Monica says. “It’s so fulfilling to be able to connect candidates to their dream careers, and at the same time, help a company grow.”
Before joining GeoEngineers, Monica developed her HR chops as a recruiter at Microsoft, where she had diverse experience supporting various roles within engineering, product management, and gaming departments. She developed a service-oriented mindset and talent for working with a variety of personality types and preferences. This diverse background also gave Monica a deep understanding of different industries and their unique personnel needs.
“The work being done at GeoEngineers is so impactful to not only human lives, but animals, natural resources, and the Earth,” Monica says. “I’m excited about our projects and eager to learn more about civil engineering.”
Monica spends her free time obsessing over her two adorable cats, working on her daily fitness routine, traveling to new places, and cooking and eating good food.
