Nicholas is a staff geotechnical engineer, where he works to understand site conditions and deliver thoughtful recommendations. Drawing from field data and firsthand site observations, Nicholas helps his team develop practical solutions to geotechnical challenges across a range of project types.

“As a scientist with surveying experience,” he explains, “I can offer practical solutions to problems in the field such as layouts and how to accurately record the surroundings.” His time in the as a survey technician gave him exposure to a variety of site conditions and introduced him to standard surveying technologies like total stations and GIS capture. This early experience continues to inform his problem-solving approach and appreciation for real-world conditions.

Nicholas earned a degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech University, and has always been drawn to geotechnical engineering for its complexity and intuitive nature. “Being a geotechnical scientist takes a certain sense of intuition and problem-solving that came naturally to me,” he says. “It is lots of little tricks and tips that form it as a whole.” That blend of challenge and creativity makes the work a natural fit for his interests and strengths.

At GeoEngineers, Nicholas is focused on expanding his technical knowledge, earning his PE license, and moving into a project management role.

Outside of work, Nicholas leads an active lifestyle and has a long-standing passion for fitness. He’s been involved in sports since childhood and continues to work out regularly. He also enjoys painting, playing video games, collecting comics, and trying out new hobbies whenever he can.
