As a staff geotechnical engineer, Sean works on the front lines for the geotechnical team in our Tacoma office. He spends much of his time in the field, collecting soil data to be used in geotechnical designs. Put simply, his job as to discover how strong the soil is at a particular project site. Then our team makes engineering recommendations for structures built on it.
“I enjoy the variability of the soil and the amount of engineering judgment required,” Sean says. There’s always something new and surprising.”
Sean came to GeoEngineers after serving in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer as a demolition expert. These days, Sean focuses on keeping our structures secure and stable. When he’s not playing in the dirt, you might find Sean hiking, biking or hitting the road on his motorcycle.
